Meet one of our wonderful Event Specialists, Julia! She is currently a sophomore at Towson University and is pursuing a degree in Political Science. You might see her on the Supreme Court Justice some day! 🙂 At Gramercy, Julia works evenings and weekends as she helps guests check into their rooms, greets vendors on event days and represents Gramercy during weddings.
Why did you choose Political Science and what are your aspirations with that degree?
I enjoy studying politics, and with this degree, I have the opportunity to learn more about theory, international relations, comparative politics, and American politics. My goal is to attend law school after getting my bachelor’s degree in Political Science to become a lawyer. Right now, I don’t have any law schools in mind!
How do you spend your free time?
When I have free time between balancing work and school, I enjoy playing the guitar. I taught myself how to play both an acoustic and an electric guitar. It’s more of a fun hobby that I do every once in awhile.
What do you enjoy about working weddings at Gramercy Mansion?
It’s very neat to see how each wedding uses the same venue in a different way. I’ve seen a variety of setups and décor, which makes every event unique. One of my favorite things is when couples have live music, because not only does it sound awesome, but guests get to watch the musicians perform as they play. I also think it’s fun when brides have two different dresses on their wedding day.
Do you have any future travel plans?
I’d really love to go to Madrid, Spain the next time I travel. I’m also considering backpacking through Europe after graduating from Towson.
