Each April people from around the world take time to celebrate our planet and reflect on things we can do to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. April 22, 2015 marks the 75th anniversary of Earth Day. Whether attending a special event, workshop or local clean-up day or planting a garden in your own backyard, there are many small things we all can do to make a big difference.
8 Simple Earth Day Ideas for Going Green
- Replace faucets with low-flow options and incandescent bulbs with compact flourescent lights.
- Opt for Energy star certified appliances when replacing the old.
- Go paperless when you can at home and in the office.
- Buy recycled and recyclable products.

Baltimore Earth Day Events and Celebrations
Friday, April 17th – Days of Taste Presents: The Perfect Harvest – Earth Month Wine Supper by Chef’s Expressions: Featuring fresh ingredients from local, sustainable farmers, this amazing five-course feast celebrates spring and Mother Earth.
April 18th – 25th – Baltimore Green Week and EcoFest: Kick off a week of Earth Day festivities in Druid Hill Park with food, live entertainment, nature hikes, workshops and featured arts and crafts from local artisans. Week long events include a variety of workshops, volunteer opportunities, hikes, a native tree giveaway, farm tours and much more.

Earth Day Celebration and Clean Up at Robert E. Lee Park: Pitch in and lend a hand to restore the park for the season, clean up debris, work on trails and plant some native plants.
