Vibrant colors, elegant decor, rich Indian cuisine and lots of dancing… Vince and Tanvi’s December Indian wedding at Gramercy Mansion was made for lasting memories! True story – Vince realized he had forgotten his shoes before the start of the ceremony and Emilie, our superhero innkeeper/event hostess, raced over to Nordstrom’s in the midst of holiday shopping chaos, to pick up a replacement pair. How’s that for service?
The night started with a gorgeous Hindu ceremony staged by the bride’s family. Underneath the pipe and drape, Vince and Tanvi celebrated the Jaimala (Exchanging of the Garlands to show acceptance), Sindhoor (the mark the groom puts on the bride’s forehead to signify the marriage), and Jalastuchana, where the parents sprinkle a water-dipped rose over the couple for good fortune.
The intricate and lovely Indian wedding ceremony went off without a hitch. Guests celebrated and danced the night away along with a special performance by an Indian dance troupe.
We were so happy to host such a lovely couple! It was a fun way to celebrate and we wish Vince and Tanvi a lifetime of happiness!
